Porter's Bug Room
4 day project
Porter, a 10 year old with an infatuation with bugs, requested insects all over! We started our initial consultation with Porter's bug books. He marked his favorites, and his parents and I discussed which bugs would go where! I tried to keep the creepy crawlies realistic, without being too scary! The effect is a cool boy's room with lots of impact!
A friendly Praying Mantis!
This mural took 4 days to complete because of the size and detail of the bugs!

Porter requested a fly be added as 'lunch' for the Mantis!
An all too real paper wasp!

I asked Porter to mark all of the bugs he wanted to see in his room. It was the first time he didn't mind doing homework! Here he holds up his bug book we used to find this dragon fly.
Look closely! I sign all of my murals in a subtle spot!
A two foot tall beetle! Eeek!
