    Faux Finishes
Faux finishes are a great way to add style and drama to any room. From a washed effect to faux leather, custom paint makes any room more interesting!

    Golden Leaves Bath
For my momma's birthday, I snuck into her house and faux finished her downstairs powder room! We had talked about MAYBE doing a finish SOME DAY... so she was totally surprised!! My mom loves ANYTHING gold, so I added a metallic glaze to the leaves! This was a 1 day project!

REAL fig leaves from a tree in my yard were pressed into the wet plaster to create this look. I chose fig leaves because they are velvety and thick.... heavy duty enough to leave a great impression!

    Mimi hard at work!

    The very vanilla 'before'.

In the process... here you can see the plaster layer and the base coat yellow. Add a glaze, then some accent color....yes, 4 coats total!

    A Bronze Bath
When the T. family moved into their new home, mom was not too thrilled with the wallpaper choice of the previous homeowner! My solution: add a textured faux finish! These pics do the finish no justice....the warm tones, metallic finish, and 3D vine and gold leaeves are just stunning!

    Done!

This is the original wallpaper. It was lovely, but not the new home owner's taste. It was in very good condition, so I simply removed any loose paper, and primed over the top of it.

Next, I added a textured plaster finish over the entire area. This covered the seams and texture of the wallpaper, as well as adding a old world feel. Step 4 was adding the first layer of color.

Step 5 was adding the glaze. This added depth and really highlighted the nooks and crannies of the plaster finish.

Step 6: To finish off the look, I added a 3 dimensional painted vine, and added metallic gold leaves.  This project took 2 days.

    Tuscan Walls
Here, a soft, buttery technique was achieved using glaze and a ragging technique.

    Ragging On Technique
In this bedroom, paint was applied with a rag only....creating light and dark areas. This gives a more subdued look over solid paint color.

    Leopard Print
No....that's not wallpaper! This fun bathroom was entirely hand painted....from the soft brown and camel stripes, to the bold black pattern laid on top! Lots of work, but oh, the drama!
